ABOUT THE ARTIST: Chet Eskey
(1926 - 2012) Sculptor Chet Eskey worked predominantly in marble, granite, limestone, and bronze. Retired from medicine, Dr. Eskey, in addition to being an artist, was a Board Certified Orthopedic surgeon. Creating sculpture part-time, while active in his renowned medical practice, led to Chet Eskey eventually devoting all of his time to sculpture.
While his interest was working predominantly in stone, Chet Eskey worked in different media as well. His devotion led him to study in Italy and with sculptors in Florida, Arizona, Colorado and Vancouver, Canada.
Extensive surgical experience and knowledge of anatomy gave Chet Eskey not only a wealth of technical knowledge to draw upon but a singular vision of the human form’s abstraction. And so it was the intangible beauty of form that his background had lent him that provided the ultimate influence, allowing the true nature of the human soul, as it is expressed through the human body, to reveal itself in the elegant and inspired sculptures of Chet Eskey.
The sculptures of Chet Eskey are in private collections throughout the United States.
